Why the Bosch 1617 Works With Several Router Lifts
One reason for the broad lift support is the Bosch 1617 family’s approximately 3.5-inch motor diameter.
Kreg and JessEm both document Bosch 1617/1618 among their supported 3.5-inch router motors.
However, motor diameter alone should never be treated as proof of compatibility. The lift manufacturer’s documentation should still explicitly support the router or motor.
Bosch 1617EVS and the 1617 Family
Bosch currently identifies the 1617EVS as its 2.25 HP variable-speed fixed-base router. Bosch documentation also identifies it as part of the 1617 platform.
When checking compatibility, pay attention to the exact router model and manufacturer documentation rather than assuming that every Bosch router uses the same motor housing.
For example, other Bosch router families can have substantially different housing and electrical designs.
